Some wines from 2022 are just absolutely captivating, and this is a prime example. Picked just before the September heat wave, these old vines gave us a hugely deep, exuberant wine, with a black purple color, boisterous aromatics of black fruits, boysenberry, cracked black pepper, and lush oak. On the palate, the big tannins one expects but also wrapped in the sultry textural nuance that 2022 does so well, leading to a downright sexy finish. One for the ages. 22 cases produced from 1 French oak barrel.
