2022 Ritual

Heralding the pre-Prohibition days of Napa, when our red blends began winning awards at World's Fairs and Expositions. The deep color, exuberant fruit and complex spice notes from these wines deliver in a way that was undeniable then, and now. In 2022, the old vines at Alfred Frediani and Frediani Vineyards did exceptionally well and form the core of this fruity, complex wine. Deep purple in color, with a huge nose of ripe plum, boysenberry, blueberry, creosote, garrigue and peppery herbs. This wine is juicy on the palate with deep layers of rich flavors and a hugely round texture, leading to a wonderfully smooth and lush finish.

Reviews
The 2022 Ritual blend is composed of 28% Grenache, 28% Syrah, 28% Charbono, and 16% Petite Sirah. It is medium garnet-purple colored and comes tearing out of the glass with notes of baked plums, dried cherries, and mulberries, giving way to hints of dried herbs, garrigue, and black pepper. The full-bodied palate bursts with gregarious red and black fruit preserves flavors, supported by lightly chewy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and peppery.

Deeply colored, the 2022 Ritual Red Blend reveals ripe black and blue fruits intermixed with peppery herbs, leather, and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, pure, and elegant, it has a layered texture and integrated acidity. This terrific blend of 28% each Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Charbono with 16% Syrah will drink nicely for 7-8 years.
