Jim Frediani farms this fantastic vineyard with help from his nephew Ken, and the managing help of his sisters since his mother Jeanne's passing in 2015. Mike will never forget meeting with their mother Jeanne over coffee in the kitchen of her old farmhouse in 2009 while she asked about his family history, business plan, values, and the like. After an hour, she said she was willing to sell Relic some grapes, and we have had a relationship with the family ever since. It was Jim who actually introduced us to his uncle Al up at the end of Pickett Road. Since 2009 we have been sourcing Cabernet Franc from gorgeous gravelly soil here, and for the last few years have also been getting dry-farmed Grenache and Charbono. Jim is an amazing farmer, and can spin a yarn like no one else. We cherish this relationship and hope to continue our handshake agreement for years to come.
