2023 Silver Eagle Pinot Noir

The long, cool growing season produced one of our favorite Silver Eagle Pinots to date, showing a freshness and bright verve alongside its trademark power. As these Pommard clone Pinot vines age, they also seem to add dimensions to the wine, with even more complexity and nuance. A stunning, bright ruby color leads to aromatics of raspberry, Rainier cherry, clove, orange zest and ginger cookies. On the palate, the sensuous flavors are darker, but the freshness remains, creating a subtle power and length that caresses the palate on the long, nuanced finish.

Reviews
The 2023 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle is a darker magenta ruby color, while the nose reveals darker notes of black raspberry, wild brambly herbs, and very pretty, dusty earth. It’s medium to full-bodied but also gains in intensity as it builds on the palate, with fantastic resonance and a long finish. It saw 11 months in 30% new French oak. Drink 2027-2040.

Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2023 Silver Eagle Vineyard Pinot Noir waltzes out with a gorgeous perfume of pomegranate, black raspberries, and lilacs, followed by hints of anise, wild thyme, and crushed rocks with a touch of underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is silky and lively with red and black berry layers and a long, fragrant finish.

A vivid, fruity, expansive red with red fruit and floral aromas, then raspberry, strawberry, blackberry leaf and floral flavors. Deep, full in flavor, medium- to full-bodied, focused and linear. The grapes were all Pommard clone. Drink now or hold.
