First produced in 2016, Atmos is the result of years of dedication and experimentation. This wine captures the depth and promise of Napa Valley Cabernet, reflecting the care and effort that we pour into every vintage. The magic in 2021 came from the Kenefick Ranch, where we chose the best 2 barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Block 7 clone 191 and 7, and blended it with 30% Petit Verdot from the pebbly hillside blocks planted in the 1990's. Dry farmed for the first time in 2021, the vines' deep root systems were reaching for water, and maybe that was exactly the magic needed to produce this jaw-dropping beauty. The resulting wine is a complete package with a black-purple color, aromatic fireworks of damson plum, blackberry, cherry compote, baking spice and madagascar chocolate. The round, voluminous palate is layered, rich, and profoundly nuanced, with the finest of velvety 3-D tannins framing the potent and powerful flavors. The finish goes on seemingly forever. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Petit Verdot. 48 cases from 2 new French oak barrels.
The 2021 ATMOS Proprietary Red Wine is composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Petit Verdot. It is deep garnet-purple colored and shoots from the glass with vibrant notes of black cherries, fresh blackberries, and cassis, leading to hints of cedar chest, menthol, and violets. The full-bodied palate delivers powerful, wonderfully impactful black fruit layers, supported by very firm, grainy tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing with epic length. Gorgeous and should cellar for many years! This label was only made once before, in 2016.
