2014 Paras Vineyard Grenache

Gaining control of this fruit was an amazing windfall that we will forever be grateful for. Grenache in Napa Valley is rare. Grenache on Mount Veeder is exceedingly rare, and we are incredibly happy to have long-term access to this rarity. There is inherent complexity in the vineyard, with various terraces and high-density blocks maintaining different clones, aspects and micro-climates, and the wine shows it. More effusive than the 2013, with hugely fragrant aromas of strawberries, plum pudding, lavender, white pepper, peach pit and yellow flowers. The palate is deceivingly juicy and vibrant, with fluid texture and rich fruit in abundance, while the finish gets serious, framed by the finest of mountain tannins.

Reviews
Combines polish with density, offering a structured backbone and deeply layered black raspberry, smoky meat and peppery mineral notes that persist. Refined tannins. Drink now through 2024.
