2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Our sources on the West Sonoma Coast get better and better each year, and the number one reason is vine age. As these root systems develop, the wines gain in nuance, complexity and depth. This is what we have been waiting for! Most of the fruit in this blend hails from Fort Ross-Seaview, with the majority of the remainder being from Annapolis, and a touch from Occidental. As the farming improves, we strive to pick earlier to give our Pinot Noirs more complex aromatics, while retaining tons of flavor. 2014 brought moderate, warm temperatures to this region, so close to the Pacific. The result is a lush texture balanced by a spicy, aromatic personality with notes of bright cherry pit, white flowers, lavender and a hint of clove – exactly what we are looking for.
